Dogs love Kent’s countryside as much as we do—and with so many dog-friendly trails, it’s easy to find a walk that gets both tails and boots wagging.

Here are some tried-and-tested favourites:

Reculver to Herne Bay

A flat coastal path with plenty of sniffs, sea air, and beach. Stop at dog-friendly cafés along the way. Parking is easy and the walk is out-and-back, so you can go as far as your dog likes.

Bedgebury Pinetum

Miles of woodland paths, open spaces, and dog-friendly trails. There are dog bins and picnic areas, and well-behaved dogs can go off-lead in many areas.

Shorne Woods Country Park

Perfect for families and dogs alike. Multiple loop options, a café, and even dog-friendly events throughout the year. Lots of shade in summer and good signage too.

Capstone Farm Country Park (Medway)

Easy trails, water bowls outside the visitor centre, and woodland to explore. Ideal for a quick afternoon walk when you need something local and low-fuss.

Romney Marsh

Wide, open skies and quiet footpaths. Dogs can roam (where safe and appropriate), and you’ll often meet sheep, so a lead may be needed—but the freedom is worth it.

Don’t forget: bring water, check for ticks after, and always keep your dog on a lead near livestock or nesting birds. Remember to clean up after your dog to keep the countryside as you found it.
