Hothfield Common & the Stour Valley – Guided Group Walk – 7.5 miles
Hothfield Common & the Stour Valley
Guided Group Walk

Join us for a 7.5 mile mixed group walk from Hothfield Common, exploring the beautiful countryside around Godington and following part of the Stour Valley Way.
This route takes us through a lovely mix of heathland, woodland, fields and quiet country lanes, with plenty of open countryside to enjoy along the way. We’ll leave Hothfield Common behind and head towards Godington, before joining a section of the Stour Valley Way and enjoying the peaceful Kent countryside that surrounds the River Stour.
It’s a great opportunity to explore a different part of the Kent countryside that is often over looked.
The walk
Starting from Hothfield Common, we’ll head out into the surrounding countryside towards Godington, enjoying a mixture of commonland, woodland, fields and quiet country paths.
We’ll pick up a section of the Stour Valley Way, one of Kent’s long distance walking routes, before continuing through the countryside and making our way back towards Hothfield Common.
At around 7.5 miles, this is a good walk for those who enjoy getting a decent distance under their belt without it becoming a full day hike. There will be plenty of opportunities to pause, take in the views and enjoy the changing landscape.
Come and walk with us
Our mixed group walks are open to everyone.
Whether you’re already a regular walker, new to the group, coming on your own or simply looking for a good excuse to get out into the countryside, you’re very welcome. Around 80% of our members come to our walks on their own, and it is one of the things people love most about being part of the group.
You don’t need to know anyone before you arrive. Just bring your walking boots, enjoy the scenery and we’ll take care of the rest.
